La Specola Observatory in Padua, Italy

On our trip to Europe in 2013, our family spent several days in Padua, Italy. The University of Padua is one of the schools where Galileo lectured.

While a tour guide led us through the lecture hall, I imagined Liam as a student at the university, or as a time-traveler, learning directly from Galileo …

Galileo left Padua 150 years before La Specola was used as an observatory. Still, for over 250 years, it has been a place to study astronomy and, since 1994, to conduct high-quality research.
